How to Find Moments of Joy; Balance Your Mind through Meditation.

In the entire universe, everything is on a frequency. Just like dark and light, we feel low and high and that is where our vibrational frequency is playing in the background. The purpose of this article is so you can control it with mindfulness. When you feel physically weak you start taking care of your diet, sleep and everything in your life will start to get better.

In our lives, happiness and contentment are normal but when we don’t take care of them, it diminishes. Happiness is a state of mind which is why it requires maintenance. When we are open and curious, there are many small things that can take your breath away. So, be open to positivity because it will set you free. As long as you don’t have any kind of negativity such as gossiping or excess of anything, be it food, sleep or alcohol, or even jealousy, the list goes on. These are the things that lower your vibration and you end up lacking ambition and drive and attracting more pessimism in your life.

Where can we find Joy?

The ability to feel happy is also something we are born with and we do not require any training to acquire this skill. According to psychology, humans are independently in the state of happiness even when they are undergoing any physical or psychological trauma. The majority of us, live in the illusion that happiness is tied to achieving something particular.

Life is not like this, it works in mysterious ways, the things we think are everything ends up affecting us while the things we take for granted turn out to be amazing giving us a sense of contentment. This entire phenomenon focuses our attention somewhere between relationships, career, financial stability, family, friends, and other experiences all the time, not allowing us to see that this essential trait already exists within us.

On the other hand, when we overlook and neglect the sense of joy and happiness repeatedly, we tend to lose the true value of our relationships, careers, finances or whatever and we forget to live. For instance, as soon as get jealous or feel bitter, such feelings will overshadow our inborn ability to sense the innate joy.

From mindlessness to mindfulness, through the practice of mindfulness, we are able to become more fully immersed in the present and break the chain of stress and worry. The goal is not to live in ecstasy and feel blissful all the time but to feel content, blissful and get the most of the moment we are living in.

How Meditation Works?

I was going through depression when I discovered meditation and by the end of the first class, I actually felt joy overflowing my body. Just about 10-15 minutes of yoga or meditation give us enough strength to face the day. After the first class, I knew that meditation would help me regain my lost strength and identify the happiness which was lost somewhere inside of me. That day, I came back home rejuvenated because I was in the right direction and this is exactly how you feel when you see the light after a few years of depression.

As soon as I became a meditation practitioner, I started researching more and more about it online, more books on neurosciences which eventually strengthened my relationship with this activity. My personal practice has reinstated me time and again that we are habitually stuck in the vicious cycle of overthinking which leads to negativity and hopelessness, and meditation is basically a restart.

How Is Joy a Medicine?

As they say, a good laugh and a good night’s sleep can cure anything. Meditation takes a bit of both, however, it does not deal with laughter nor sleep.  Even back in ancient Greece, doctors used to prescribe watching comedy and reading comics. As a matter of fact, hospitals were built near amphitheaters so the patients could enjoy the comedy shows taking place near them.

Negativity, hopelessness, depression or any other condition that engages us with sadness potentially leads to a low immune system; making us prone to an unhealthy lifestyle, viral diseases or whatever that can affect the health temporarily or on a permanent basis, ultimately leading to weaker willpower. Researches have proven that spending time in the joyful state of mind either by adopting good humorous company or watching something funny that promotes the happiness and sense of wellbeing consequently bring healthy changes in our body and eventually boosts and strengthens our immunity. On the flip side, this medicine does not have any side effect, in fact, it comes with side benefits. The same joy will diminish anxiety, depression, and gloominess, relieves the hurt and saves us from the damages of stress and as a result of all this, it gives us restful sleep at night and a strong digestion system. Meditation allows you to get in touch with your very own happiness whenever you want. That brings me to my last point, which is mindfulness – meditation is an act of mindfulness.

Mindfulness and Meditation

Meditation is an act of mindfulness. “When we are mindful… we become immersed in what’s happening at the moment, without criticism or judgment.” As explained by Deepak Chopra, who is a famous public speaker and an alternative medicine advocate, in Opera Winfrey’s channel on YouTube in which they endorse and educate people on how to live mindfully, and obviously meditation is a major part of it. I am grateful to my Cox communication services that allow me to freely and without any hiccups, watch these talk on meditation. It basically educates us that the same brain that is thinking consciously and unconsciously negatively and visualizing the worst possible scenarios, has the ability to think positively and visualize whatever good you would like to have in your life and reach the same exact amount of contentment without having to wait all your life for the self-imposed conditions and mandatory levels that liberate you to get happiness only after possessing them.
