Resistance welding electrodes are used in the resistance welding process to press two parts together in the joining process. When you compare these electrodes with those made by soldering, the soldering ones are inferior as they have cavities. Due to the irregular cavities, the contact resistance of these electrodes differs. The time it takes for them to cool off may also differ. They also have a shorter life due to low thermal conductivity.
Energy consumption can be reduced when you use the high-quality back cast electrodes that have high thermal conductivity. Soldered electrodes are also not able to bend as well as the back cast electrodes that have a perfect join. These electrodes are designed to be stiff with good bending properties.
