DIY Car Wash with Microfiber Towels!!

We quite often look for DIY “Do It Yourself” solutions for our routine household tasks. Keeping the car clean is one of them. Nowadays, people prefer DIY car wash rather than waiting in the long queue in front of the car wash station at crucial hours. In simple words, a DIY car wash worth your time and effort.

“Microfiber Towels” are quintessential material in car washing. We are aware that microfiber cloth is used to clean every speck of dust at home. In addition to that, Microfibers are an effective tool to clean the interior and exterior of the car.

Why is Microfiber cloth effective?

Microfibers are tiny synthetic threads made up of the composition of polyester, polyamide, and nylon. Polyamide increases the water-wicking capability of the microfiber towels. When tiny strands are knitted together, they can wipe away the dust and debris thoroughly from the surfaces without scattering them.

Small fiber couldn’t make scratch marks in the car glasses. Features like ultra-absorbent, lint-free, and streak-free are ensuring that microfiber towels are practical car detailing tools.

Steps involving in the car wash:

Things needed to wash a car:

  • Water
  • Bucket
  • Car washing soap & Detergent
  • Microfiber Towels

Step 1 – Park the car in the right place to wash:

Park your car in the shady part like under the tree before washing them. Because when sun rays directly hit the car, it dries the moisture and soap on the surface and makes it hard to rinse the car surfaces.

Step 2- Prepare Washing Solution:

Fill the bucket with water and add car wash soap into the water (Must follow the guidelines mentioned to use car wash soap). Then soak the microfiber towels into the soapy water.

Step 3 – Remove the exterior dust:

With the hose pipe, pour water on the car exterior and wheels to remove the loosely attached dust.

Step 4 –Wash with soapy microfiber towel:

Spread the soaked cloth on the exterior of the car and wipe well to pick the dust. From top to bottom, rub the outside of the car and ensure that soap does not dry up; rinse the cloth again to retain the wetness of the soapy towel. If heavy dust formed in the car, use two or three cloths to wash away the dust.

Step 5 – Wash Wheels:

Wheels contain a heavy amount of soil and dust. So, it’s better to wash them at last. If not soil carried in the towel, scratch the paint.

Step 6 – Rinse the car:

Rinse every panel of the car with clean water thoroughly. Pour water from the hose, from the roof portion to car wheels until the foam disappears.

Step 7 – Dry the car:

After the wash, if you leave the moisture to dry in the air, spots form on the surface. For the spotless exterior, wipe the leftover moisture on the car panel with a new (dried) microfiber cloth.

Step 8 – Wash microfiber towels:

Solid and durable microfiber cloth lasts longer if you care for them properly. Heat is the main enemy of microfiber towels. Either in machine wash or manual wash, wash microfiber towels separately in the cold water without adding fabric softener. And dry them under shady weather to protect the fabric strength. Store the dried towels in the closet for reuse.
